In the Martial Arts, there are belt levels to recognize achievement. At each level, there are requirements. These requirements present the practitioners with goals.
Why is it any different with fitness?
The lack of goals in fitness training results in people looking at the scale for fitness goals. Getting the weight off seems to be the only goal for adults.
We are initiating our “Black Belt in Fitness” program. This program gives normal, healthy people fitness goals. Just as the goal of obtaining a Black Belt in Karate is achievable for any average person (with above average desire), so are the goals in the Black Belt in Fitness Program.
With our experience and data from the TC Fitness Challenge over the last 4 years, we outlined the requirements for the program (see Requirements sheet).
Once a participant satisfies all the minimum requirements for the level, they will receive a T-shirt in the color of the level (yellow, green, red or black) and a certificate. T-ahirts and certificates will be available within 2 weeks after the contest.
Promotion testings will be scheduled through the spring and summer.
There will be a $10.00 fee per strength or speed test you do.
For the 5K test, you can use any timed contest. Published results must be presented as proof. Support your local 5Ks! See www.tcfitnesschallenge.com.
First scheduled strength and speed testing is Saturday, June 4th at 9 AM at Fay's Fitness.
All proceeds for this event will benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Tioga County.
Advance notice of participation is required. Contact us at or call at 607-659-4818.
